1st Edition. Extremely scarce in the original cloth. 8vo. (10x18cm), iv+ 394 pages + advertising leaf. A worn copy, slight foxing on the title page and occasionally on a few other pages, light marking in the margin of page 17, a light crease across the top corner of many of the pages. A piece (aprox. 2 x 9 cm) torn away from the adverting leaf. Bound in the publisher’s brown cloth binding, the title etc in gilt on the spine, the binding worn. The original yellow endpapers rather worn and spilt at the hinges, the front cover partially loose at the inner hinge. A early inscription on the front free endpaper, a previous owner’s bookplate inside the front cover and a strip of paper describing a copy of this work pasted on the back of the front free endpaper.
