1^st. Edition. Three volumes: (viii)+236 pages, (viii)+240 pages and (viii)+260 pages respectively.

The endpapers a little marked, and splitting at the hinges in volumes 1 and 2, although the bindings firm. A crease in the top corner of the first 5 leaves of volume 1 and a grey mark in the top corner of the dedication. A small crease in the edge of a few pages in volumes 1 and 2, with a few other slight creases to other pages. The edges of the pages dusty when the books are closed. All three volumes with the front board not quite in line with the back board when the book is closed, although the boards flat.

Bound in the publisher’s green cloth binding, black decoration and the title etc. in gilt on the spine. The bindings rubbed and faded, but solid, with the ghost of a label on the front covers.
