8vo. (19 x 12.5 cm) Iv + 488 pages + iv pages adverts + publishers catalogue 64 pages dated January, 1891. Matching the description in A Bibliography of Henry James by Edel and Laurence.
The top edge of a few pages, including the title page, a little rough and uneven, on two pages a small piece of paper missing here. The surface of the pages browned, one page with a tear in the blank margin, a few pages with grey finger marks. A little other marking and some creasing, including to the title page. The endpapers foxed and a little foxing at the very edge of the pages of the catalogue. The top edge of the book dusty when the pages closed, this dustiness sometimes creaping into the top margin a little.
Bound in the original red cloth binding, as described in the bibliography. Generally reasonably bright, with some darkening of the cloth, particularly on the spine which is also somewhat rubbed. A small white mark on the spine. The two boards flat but a little out of line with each other.
